Hello SOBA bowlers,
Based on feedback from multiple SOBA bowlers / members and the success of a similar swiss format being ran in the Salem area, I have decided to try an alternative format for the trio swiss at our November SOBA event. For the November 9th event, we are going to run it with a 650 scratch team cap instead of our normal 630 cap, with individual handicap. Each bowler will receive handicap based on 90% of 220. All bowlers with a book average over 220 will bowl scratch. All the rest of the format will be like our normal swiss tournaments, 6 games of matchplay, 1 point for each individual win, 3 points for each team win. From game 2 to game 6 will be position round. We are still going to cash 1 in 3, etc...
Hopefully this format will allow those teams that come in with lower averages be competitive while still bowling with friends & family. This isn't a permanent change for future events, just a format that we want to try on a trial basis and might try again at some point if it is successful.
Thank you,
Jason

If you are an individual wanting to find a team or a two bowler team that is looking for a third bowler, please post on this thread. We will be limited to 20 teams for this event. I would love to see us have a successful turnout.
